Follands Reserves vs First

We travelled to Follands Reserves in the Southampton Intermediate cup quarter finals saturday and managed to get over the line in the tie. This is a new competition which was formed this season and we have reached the semi finals at the first attempt by beating two Wyvern league sides, a real achievement for the team.

We managed to get hold of the ball early on and applied a lot of pressure to the very young follands side but we found ourselves undone early on as a long ball was coverted by a speedy Follands forward. The team managed to get back control of the game and great pressure was applied to the Follands back line before they managed to pass the ball into their own net. We then added a seconf as Jordan headed in a Liam corner.

We went in a comfortable 2-1 at half time without getting into our stride.

The second half started well, the team flew out of the blocks and got stuck into Follands resulting in an excellent Liam goal. Unfortuanley we didnt kick on from here and the game saw chance after chance go to waste before a late serge from Follands saw them score a late goal and they were then the ones applying pressure. The team stuck together and managed to ride the game out despite a few scares.

Far from our best but were in the hat for the semi fianls where we will meet one of Infinity, Colden COmmon or Compton.
