Nice to be at Hoe Road for the last game of the season and a really nice morning it was too. Fordingbridge looked the sharper of the two teams early on and took the lead when a corner was 'headed' in off an attacker's back. Luckily, Dynamos know how to deal with going behind to an early goal and decided to get on with playing some football, soon Dynamos had the upper hand, a string of at least half a dozen corners failed to be converted but at least all the play was in the Fordingbridge half now. Ads played a great through ball for Jack who shot just over, Ben K and Jim were solid at the centre of defence and Fordingbridge had already reverted to relying on long clearances by their keeper to create attacks. One such attack saw JT being beaten as he came out to claim the ball in his area, as the cross/shot came over Ben K dived majestically to punch the ball just over the bar, the referee took a dim view of this but took no action except to award a penalty. Amusingly, the Fordingbridge centre forward blasted the ball even higher over the bar than Ben had ! In reality justice had not been done this time. Ads was having a fine game at left back went on a dazzling run beating three before releasing Jack who crossed for Rob R but his shot flew just over. Totally against the run of play the Fordingbridge long ball undid Dynamos and they found themselves in full control of a match they were losing by two goals ! Hopefully the second half would be more fruitful.
And yes it was ! Dynamos continued to play great football, fullbacks Ads and Liam linking well with midfield throughout. Rob P who seems to have settled well into his new midfield role had a shot which the keeper couldn't hold and Tim was in the right place to slot home and pull a goal back. Ben K headed a Tom B corner just wide of the near post. A typical sweeping move involving Ads, Rob R and Tim created a one-on-one for Jack who rarely misses those and Dynamos were level with about ten minutes to go. Dynamos continued to create chances, the closest being Arun M who hit the bar. An excellent second half performance in which Dynamos were just unable to break down the packed Fordingbridge defence for a decisive third time.
Manager Adam was really proud of the boys fighting spirit to get back the two goal deficit, picking out good performances from Liam, Ben K, Rob R and Tom B particularly for his bravery. Man of the match was Ads.
