Match report

Bishops Waltham Dynamos U15B - 0
Churchfields U15 - 7
Testway League U15 Cup Quarter Final
This was a game of two halves ! Dynamos welcomed Churchfields from Division one to Hoe Road for their first ever encounter, the game began evenly balanced as both teams jousted for any advantage they could find. Sam was covering well as sweeper at the back for Dynamos and Jack was lively up front and causing Churchfields some headaches in their own defence. However, Churchfields looked good coming forward and soon tested JT who pulled off a fine save low to his left. Ads and Rob R were getting stuck in at the back too, Ads also looking to get forward on occasion. Churchfields pressed and won a corner which was well defended and cleared by Tom L, at this point Dynamos were playing the better football, although Churchfields route one tactics looked well practised and dangerous. Jack slipped past the Churchfields defence but his shot flew just over. Unfortunately for Dynamos all the meaningful action in this half took place in the last five minutes, firstly a freak chance came Churchfields way as a cross flew off a Dynamos defender, JT was wrong footed and an easy tap in was converted. In almost the next attack the Churchfields centre forward was adjudged to have been tripped, or pushed or something and the resulting penalty gave JT no chance. Dynamos heads were down after this double whammy, especially after such a good performance so far and almost against the run of play. Churchfields scored another on the break before half time.
Dynamos began the second half really well, attacking with width and defending in numbers, JT was as brave as usual coming out to feet and denying Churchfields more success. But it wasn't to last, a Churchfields corner was headed away by Ads but the Churchfields follow up found the Dynamos defence already awol and it was 0-4, a Churchfields free kick was headed behind by Sam but the resulting corner was headed in unchallenged. Churchfields were now well on top, getting clean through but for saving tackles by Ads and Ben K. On another occasion a shot was well saved by JT but the ball rolled out to a Churchfields player who was very charitable and found the hedge and not the open goal in front of him. Dynamos, to their credit, had got their heads back up and were still at least making a game of it, Sam and Ads combined to create a chance for Jack but no luck. Jack had an opportunity to cross and found Rob R well forward and he forced a save from the keeper. Churchfields won a free kick and showed quick thinking to smash the ball into the net over JT before Dynamos had got anything defensive sorted out. There was a seventh goal but Dynamos were not holding their shape any more and the heads had gone again. And that was it. A shame that a couple of freak goals in quick succession had started the rot for Dynamos. As manager Adam said afterwards, the first half performance was really good for the most part, he also drew attention to great performances by Ads and Tim with Jack man of the match today.
