MAtch Day 3

Our third league match of the season happened to be our first home game against Hedge End Town.

Hedge End are another side who were promoted from senior 1 last season. One of our last games before lock down was against Hedge End which we came out 1-0 winners. Previous to that we had a 10-1 victory in our last home meeting so we came in with a good record in the tie.

We new that Hedge End would be a physical side so we needed to match them at their game and use our technical ability to beat them with he ball, this is something we did right from the start. the opening 10 mins saw us control the tempo of the game and have a lot of possession which we used well to create a few good chances. It was on the 11th min when the deadlock was broken. A long kick from Fin Taylor was flicked on by Joe Dudley which put Finn McGovern though on goal who cheekily lobbed to keeper to put us 1-0 up. The pressure continued from Dynamos and Hedge End were battling hard to keep us from scoring more. Eventually the we added a scored after Elliott Braund headed down a Finn McGovern corner and Josh Godley poked home from close range. With plenty of time left in the half Dynamos continued to pressure the Hedge End back line without creating too many clear cut chances. 3 mins before the break a dangerous Dynamos free kick was delivered and knocked across goal by Joe Dudley and Jamie Hayball slammed home for his first competitive goal for the club. HT 3-0.

Dynamos again started the second half strong and got themselves on the front foot. Not too many early chances were created but the majority of the game was being played in the Hedge End half. on the 70th minute a fourth was added. Another excellent goal kick from Fin Taylor put Alex Easton through Who calmly finished for his third goal of the season. Soon after Alex could of had another, an excellent ball over to Alex on the left hand side saw him 1 on 1 with the keeper but someone he put his shot wide. The rest of the half was comfortable for Dynamos. Dan cooper was unlucky not to finish a back post header for his first competitive goal, Kieran Palmer also went close to scoring his first goal and Alex Easton continued to be a threat. With the game coming to a close, the Dynamos defence were caught napping and Hedge End pulled on back from a throw in the 89th minute. FT 4-1.
